This is about my last recent work on the mobile leaderboard.
This is be a simple iphone app for golfers where ( like all the other apps ) you can save your score but additionaly sends the score to a server that compares it with all the other golfers on your course, in your match, in your country, on your continent or in the world. As a result you get the ‘leaderboard’ that tells you: “right now im 5th from all 35 Players on the course” or something like “..today i was the best player in europe”.

This app is in testphase right now and will be published in app store pretty soon.
In technical terms this is a rather simple iphone app as it is only a so called ‘web app’ thats only a webpage , set up for the iphone screen and some iphone specific behaviors. so the app it self is only a UIWebView that passes some values to the webpage to realize a iphone individual login.
3 years ago i started this project as a java 2me project for normal mobile phones using symbian os and simelar. but the many differences between the vendetors soon got me to the point to only develop for nokia phones as they almost behave the same way. so this early work founded the basis for the iphone app but only provided 25% of the work that needed to ne done for this app. JavaScript navigation and ajax requests to perform searches and store data in php files on a mysql database is the basic idea behind this project.
